Description

Immerse yourself in a profound journey of resilience and perspective with this poignant prize, "View from a Chemo Ward," by Eva Juusola, a handprinted etching that encapsulates Eva's courageous battle through cancer treatment at West Park Hospital in Sheffield.

Each stroke of this artwork resonates with Eva's lived experience, offering a window into the challenging yet transformative moments within a chemo ward. As part of a limited edition of 15, this A4 unframed print holds a unique significance, capturing a snapshot of courage and hope amidst adversity.

With every glance, "View from a Chemo Ward" invites you to pause, reflect, and find beauty in the midst of struggle.

The piece is an etching, which means that it's an original, hand-made print. That's completely different from a digital print produced by making a scan or a photo of a piece and printing it on a laser printer. An etching is made by using an etching solution to carefully corrode areas of a metal plate, then rubbing ink into the plate, wiping most of it off, placing a damp sheet of paper onto the plate, and running both through a press. This transfers the ink from the plate onto the paper and creates the image.

Bid now to not only own a piece of art but to embrace a powerful narrative of resilience, solidarity, and the triumph of the human spirit.
